Golfing at Quail Hollow is a relaxing way to spend an afternoon in the Wesley Chapel, FL area. But sometimes it’s nice to raise the stakes a little and add some extra competition or just some extra fun into the mix. Here are some games you can play to make your next round of golf a bit more interesting.
4 Golf Games to Add Some Extra Competition
- Darts. Choosing the right club is an important part of the game. So why not shake things up a bit? Select a random club for each person to play on a particular hole, by having them throw a dart at a dartboard. If they hit 1, they use a pitching wedge, for example, or it they hit 2, an 8-iron. Assign a club to each number. The results are sure to be fun, and possibly hilarious.
- Guessing game. Before each hole, have each player write down what they think the score will be. Whoever’s closest wins. At the end of the day, tabulate how often each person was right, along with that player’s regular scores. The loser buys dinner.
- Las Vegas. When you have one twosome against another, take the individual scores of each pair for a particular hole, and make the lowest two-digit number you can (i.e., if one twosome scored 5 and 3, respectively, their number would be 35. If the other team got 4 and 6, they’d have 46). Subtract the smaller number from the larger, and the result (11, in this case) is the winning team’s points for that hole. Highest points at the end wins.
- Jackpots. Want to make golfing at Quail Hollow even more interesting? Add some money to the mix. The first three holes are worth $10 apiece. The next three are worth $20, and the next three are worth $30. (if those stakes are too high, you can make it $1, $2, $3, etc.) Repeat the pattern for the remaining holes. Winner of each hole gets the pot. If a hole is tied, that money carries over to the next hole.
